Our Carbon Footprint

Here at Jorgensen Chartered Accountants we are conscious of the impact that we have as a business on our environment. We have taken some steps toward reducing our carbon footprint by introducing and implementing some easy strategies which reduce our rubbish and benefit others.

We have a system of composting whereby one person takes the compost for the week home in a lidded container to add to her own personal compost bins. There are two of these containers which ensure that no compostable material ever goes into the rubbish bag.

We have a shredder which we use daily for paper only. This paper goes into large black plastic rubbish bags which then go on to the SPCA and to two other businesses that need shredded paper.

Our printer cartridges are all recycled through Cartridge World who also provide us with a refill service on some of our printer cartridges.

As often as possible we reuse paper for printing off emails and other documents

There are always other changes that can be made and we work on those little by little at the same time taking into account the needs of the staff.
